Worship Responsibilities

Ensure that the choir is equipped and prepared for service and other special occasions.       Effectively play the piano/organ keyboard while directing the choir.  Work with the Pastor and Worship Team as it relates to weekly music for the service.    Develop the voices within the choir while exposing them to new musical expressions appropriate to the service. 

Knowledge                                                 

Be familiar with or willing to learn United Methodist Church liturgy and music (UM Hymnal, The Faith We Sing, Worship and Song, etc.), as well as contemporary Christian and Gospel music.

Applicant must have the ability to sight read music for hymns and choir music on piano.  Applicant will be required to audition.

Other Requirements

Applicant must be available for weekly Sunday morning worship services (8:45am arrival for 9am service) and weekly choir rehearsals (currently 6:15pm to 7:15pm on Thursday nights). The applicant will also need to be available for service on Christmas Eve (usually 7pm) and Easter (typically 9am).

Flexibility in practice and worship end times.
